Ground Source Heat Pump

Its time to invest in renewables

Future proof yourself against ever increasing energy bills claim the government 6,000.00 incentive reduce energy bills and carbon emissions by installing an air source heat pump

Options for Ground Source Heat Pumps

A ground source heat pump (GSHP) is a type of heating and cooling system that uses the ground as a source of heat in the winter and as a sink for heat throughout the year.

Ground loops

The system works by circulating a mixture of water and antifreeze through a network of underground pipes, called a ground loop, which is buried in the ground.

Ground loop is the cheaper of the two options.

Bore holes

The other option is bore holes, a drilling rig with bore holes deep in the ground to access heat. You will need between 4-6 bore holes depending on the heat demand.

In the winter, the GSHP system absorbs heat from the ground and uses it to heat the air or water in the building. In the summer, the system can be reversed in some machines the process, absorbing heat from the building, and transferring it to the ground. This would depend on the type of installation be installed.

Potentially you will not be able to claim the government grant if you include air conditions to the installation.

GSHPs are highly efficient and can save homeowners up to 70% on their heating and cooling bills compared to traditional heating and cooling systems. They are also environmentally friendly, as they do not emit any greenhouse gases and use renewable energy from the ground however, GSHPs require a significant amount of up front investment, as they require the installation of a ground loop, or boreholes which can be expensive.

They are also not suitable for all locations, as the ground temperature and soil type can affect the efficiency of the GSHP.

Combination of renewables will be incorporated in homes and business in the future.

The sooner you invest in renewables the sooner you will start benefiting you will also help with climate change by reducing carbon emission, its time to step away from using fossil fuel burning boilers.
